Sabine GOFS James Christian GOFS Ursula Magaard GOFS Summary HOT-23 departed Snug Harbor at 1800 on February 1st, 1991 and returned at approximately 1800 on 6 February. Kahe Point was visited en route to Station ALOHA, and XBTs were dropped after leaving the Kahe Point Station. Regular sampling work was conducted at Station ALOHA. Inverted echo sounders (IES) were deployed during this cruise, and 6 extra Stations were completed near the deployment sites. WOCE and JGOFS Operations ------------------------- All WOCE and JGOFS primary sampling was completed on this cruise. CTD and XBT Operations ---------------------- There were no CTD problems on this cruise. XBTs were deployed en route to Station ALOHA. Primary Production and Sediment Trap Measurements. -------------------------------------------------- Primary Productivity was measured with an in situ array on 5 February. Sediment traps were recovered on 5 February. Optical Measurements. --------------------- Two PNF casts were conducted at Kahe point and four at Station ALOHA. LICOR data were logged on 1 February - 3 February. Ancillary Projects. ------------------- S. Chiswell deployed Inverted echo sounders near the ALOHA Station. Plankton net tows were done for R. Lettelier and D. Hebel. |
