From HOT-1 (October 1988) to HOT-32 (December 1991), underway expendable bathythermograph (XBT; Sippican T-7 probes) surveys were conducted at 13 km spacing on the outbound transect from Station Kahe to Station ALOHA. These surveys were later discontinued because the space-time correlation of the energetic, internal semi-diurnal tides made it difficult to interpret these data. |
